Get your alignment done.

 
When your truck is out of alignment, your tires are being pushed down the road “off-kilter”. This means you are effectively making your tires fight every inch of the way. And it doesn’t take a genius to realize that if you’re tires are fighting you, you are not only burning more fuel, you are wearing down your tires much much faster.

Often truckers think they will be able to feel if their tires are out of alignment. In some cases this is accurate, drivers can tell that the rig is pulling or vibrating (which could be caused by a misaligned heavy truck), however in many cases they have no idea their rigs were out of alignment.

Here at Gerry’s Truck Centre, we regularly have customers come in with no idea or indication whatsoever that their vehicle was pulling and they were correcting. Now these truckers find themselves needing to replace their tires much sooner than they otherwise would have, which can cost up to eight grand or more, and again, that’s on top of all the extra fuel they were burning due to the extra drag the unaligned vehicle created.
